Life, sunshine, and a little flower

The thoughts of an interior designer

A Roman head & the color red
Any space that encourages this type of freedom is right up my alley! I love the red bamboo chair with the zebra print, its unexpected and brings a modern touch to a somewhat vintage inspired chair. The touches of red and orange perfectly contrast with the blue carpet to create a simple, unique space. Notice the light gray wall color with the white moldings- classically done!
PS- Anyone can create this style. Chairs like this can be found at your local thrift store or consignment store. Just some retouching, spray paint and a decorative seat pillow and you have your own custom piece! Reupholstering is also very easy - look up a tutorial or a DIY article and you’ll be a professional in minutes (find a really funky fabric, maybe a floral or geometric pattern…why not, right?). Also if you want to spice up your bookcase, buy a bunch of books from any thrift store and spray paint the plastic cover! I’ve seen gold and white, or a combination… you get the picture. Mix these books with your own to create the same type of look shown above. It’s a really cheap & unique way of creating a color palate for your home!
